By registering for and participating in the Walk for Values event (the “Event”), you (and others you may be registering) agree to the following Terms and Conditions:
- You must have reached the age of majority in your province or territory of residence. If you are under the age of majority, a parent or legal guardian must provide written consent and accept full responsibility for your participation.
- You confirm that you (and others you may be registering) are physically fit and medically able to participate and acknowledge that walking events involve inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, adverse weather conditions, uneven terrain, traffic interactions, physical exertion and potential medical emergencies.
- You acknowledge and voluntarily assume all risks associated with your participation and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, agree to release and discharge the organizers, volunteers, sponsors, partners and affiliates from any and all claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising out of or in connection with your participation in the Event, including those resulting from negligence.
- You agree to behave respectfully, follow designated routes and safety instructions and comply with all applicable municipal, provincial and federal laws.
- You understand that the organizers reserve the right to remove any participant who engages in unsafe, unlawful, or inappropriate conduct. In the event of injury or medical emergency, you authorize the organizers to obtain medical assistance on your behalf and agree to be responsible for any resulting costs, if required.
- Personal information collected during registration will be used solely for event administration, communication, safety, insurance and legal purposes. It will not be sold and will be shared only as necessary for event operations or as required by law, in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) or applicable provincial privacy laws.
- You may request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting the organizers and your information will be retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described above.
- By participating, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded and grant permission for such media to be used for promotional and communication purposes, including online and social media, without compensation, unless you notify the organizers in writing prior to the Event.
- The organizers reserve the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the Event due to circumstances beyond their control, including weather, safety concerns, or government orders. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the applicable Province and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
